Warship to bear the name of Midway, the CV-41, to commemorate the famous naval battle that turned the tide of the Pacific War. The Midway participated in a number of military operations, including the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Iranian hostage crisis, and the Gulf War, and was decommissioned in 1992 and decommissioned in 1997.
