The Boeing 777 is an American long-range, wide body airliner. The 777 is the world’s largest twin-jet airliner with the highest number manufactured. The 777 program was launched in October of 1990, with an order from United Airlines. The first flight was on 12 June 1994. It was introduced with United Airlines on 07 June 1995. The initial model was the 777-200 and had two versions: the 777-200 and 777-200ER (Extended Range). The 777-300 followed and was an extended version of the 777-200, with a fuselage stretch of 33.25 feet. As of December of 2024, there have been 1,741 models delivered. Turkish Airlines is the flag carrier of Turkey. The airline was founded on 20 May 1933, as Turkish State Airlines. It’s corporate headquarters are on the grounds of Istanbul Ataturk Airport in Yesilkoy, Bakirkoy, Istanbul. The airline has been a member of the Star Alliance Program since 2008. Turkish Airlines flies to 340 destinations in 131 countries and has 476 aircraft in their inventory. The airline has 34 Boeing 777-300ER’s in service. Boeing 777-35R(ER) had its first flight on 15 July 2007. It was initially delivered to Jet Airways as VT-JED on 31 July 2007. It was delivered to Turkish Airlines with new registration TC-JJA on 24 December 2008, where it provided service for about three years. It went through a few more owners and ended up once again with Jet Airways in September of 2016 where it flew until it was taken out of service and placed in storage.
