The British HMS Invincible (R05) light aircraft carrier, commissioned in 1980, played a pivotal role in modern naval history, particularly during the Falklands War in 1982. When Argentina invaded the Falkland Islands in April 1982, HMS Invincible, along with HMS Hermes, was quickly deployed as part of the British task force sent to reclaim the territory. During the conflict, HMS Invincible served as a crucial platform for air operations, with its Sea Harriers providing air cover, conducting ground attacks, and engaging in dogfights with Argentine aircraft. The versatility and effectiveness of the Sea Harriers, operating from the Invincible’s deck, were instrumental in achieving air superiority over the Falklands. The success of HMS Invincible in the Falklands War demonstrated the strategic value of light aircraft carriers and the importance of versatile naval air power in modern conflicts. After the war, HMS Invincible continued to serve in various capacities, participating in NATO exercises and peacekeeping missions until its decommissioning in 2005. Its legacy is marked by its significant contribution to British naval history and its role in shaping modern naval warfare strategies. For model collectors and naval history enthusiasts, this 1:700 scale model offers a detailed and faithful representation of this iconic light aircraft carrier. It is an excellent addition to any collection, celebrating the legacy of a vessel that played a vital role in one of the 20th century’s notable naval conflicts.

The HMS Ark Royal was an aircraft carrier of the Royal Navy that served during the second world war. Completed in November 1938, the design was different from its precessors. It had two hangar decks, that were equipped to transport plenty of aircrafts. The Ark Royal served during a time where the employment of the air force for the navy was active for the first time. It served in a few of the most active naval events during the second world war. It was part of the first aerial and submarine killings in the war and, most of all, on the hunt for the German warship Bismarck. The Ark Royal was torpedoed by the German submarine U-81 on 13. November 1941 and sank on the following day. Its wreck was discovered by a BBC-Crew in December 2002, about 30 nmi (35 miles or 56 kilometers) away from Gibraltar. The Forces of Valor® Ark Royal consists of pressure-casted metal and plastic, whereas metal is used for the lower part and plastic is used for the upper part of the hull. The tower and guns are made of plastic and offer a high quality of detail. Metal & Synthetic Construction. Lift & Lower Guns. Length: 34.5 cm. Weight: 0,3 kg.
